Still Motion

At the Memorial for victims of the Bali bombings. The memorial is a permanent shrine erected on the busy Kuta street where 202 people who died. People leave a variety of itmes there, including cards, Bintang beers, T-Shirts, Photographs, on birthdays, anniversaries and just in general. Even those who don’t personally know someone who perished visit and leave items. There are always people there at the shrine. It’s a magnet. I like to go there every time I visit Bali. It marks the beginning or the end of a new experience on the so-called ‘Island of the Gods’…I get time to contemplate things, I say a few prayers and I dare to hope that one day we will see an end to terrorism.
